Blog #6
Just going to Gainesville for a UF football game, I should have expected to see some crazy stuff. Walking back to my friend apartment after the game was indeed eventful. Seeing heavily intoxicated people was the usual, but a girl having to be pushed in a shopping cart was something else. She was barely all the way in it, hanging over the edge, dry heaving due to the amount of her alcohol consumption. Unable to look away, I pointed at her grotesque figure, to show my friend this unusual scene. He glanced quickly, shrugging his shoulders and said "What?". At that point, I knew that the people of Gainesville must be used to this type of thing, after all the big weekends for drinking. Now I have come to the conclusion that different areas of the country have different levels of tolerance for the grotesque. Living in Daytona Beach, I thought I was pretty tolerant due to some of the crazy weekends like "Bike Week" but I was wrong.
